 Conference
DESCRIPTION:Serious youth violence in Merseyside’s communities has had a 
 profound impact in recent years\, with certain high-profile cases shocking
  our region and patients with injuries sustained from serious violence con
 tinuing to come through the doors of our region’s hospitals.\n\nIn healt
 hcare\, we are in a unique and significant position to change this situati
 on\, with both community healthcare and hospitals contributing far more to
  society than just healthcare alone.\n\nWe believe societal violence is pr
 eventable\, as are the injuries sustained and the fatalities caused.\n\nTh
 e conference aims to:\n\n 	Understand the root causes of serious youth vio
 lence in our region and discuss the evidence base around this.\n 	Demonstr
 ate the work of multi-agency partnerships around the region which are work
 ing towards making a positive impact.\n 	Hear the lived experience of youn
 g people who have been involved in serious violence.\n 	Understand the Gov
 ernment’s statutory Serious Violence Duty and its implications on the he
 althcare sector.\n 	Hear from leaders in the field of violence prevention\
 , including work done in other cities around the country.\n 	Discuss the c
 reation of a regional violence prevention clinical network.\n\nThis is a c
 ollaboration between the Cheshire and Mersey NHS Major Trauma Network\, 
 Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership (MVRP)\, and the Public Health 
 Institute at Liverpool John Moores University.\n\nREGISTRATION IS NOW CLOS
