Teaching to prevent weapons, gangs and violence
Our Education Lead sat down with School Improvement Liverpool's Julie McCann to talk about the scheme that is helping education partners across Merseyside intercept children before they fall into the trappings of gangs, using weapons and committing violence, by dispelling myths, reinforcing accurate social norms, and strengthening the protective role of education. This is done by empowering teachers and school leaders with; a good foundation knowledge of trauma-informed practice; national data on perceived and actual violence; demonstrating practical examples of age‑appropriate PSHE lessons for primary settings; and much, much more.
