A partnership approach is at the heart of all the MVRP’s work, projects and activities.

Each member of our team has a vital role to play in bringing organisations and communities together to reduce and prevent violence.

Meet our Director

Merseyside’s Violence Reduction Partnership is led by Merseyside Police’s Superintendent Georgina Garvey.

Georgie has been a police officer for almost 24 years and during this time has worked in a variety of roles, primarily as a front-line, uniformed officer. She has always enjoyed working with communities and partners, helping to build both trust and confidence in policing but also resilience within communities.

She became the Director of the Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership in April 2023, following the success of her project to implement and embed ‘Prevention’ within Merseyside Police, leading the development of a new policing strand, a new operating model and a local strategy which puts ‘Prevention’ at the core of policing in Merseyside.
